Privacy Policy

This page explains what personal data we collect through swivvyseat.com, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We keep it short on purpose — we collect very little.

Who we are

Shifting Shapes B.V. (operating as Swivvy), Valkenboslaan 80, 2563 CN Den Haag, the Netherlands, is the data controller for this website. You can reach us at info@swivvyseat.com.

What we collect and why

Contact details. When you email us or use the contact form on this site — for example to plan a demo or to hear when a colour is back in stock — we receive your email address, your name, the subject and content of your message and, if you came from the configurator, the configuration you chose. The form sends this to us by email; the website itself does not store it. We use these to respond to you and to follow up on your interest in Swivvy Office. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to and following up on inquiries. We delete this correspondence two years after our last contact, or sooner if you ask us to, unless it is part of an order record we must keep (see below).

Orders. When you order a Swivvy Office we receive your name, email address, delivery address, phone number if you give one, company name if you add one, and what you ordered. We use these to deliver your order, send order and shipping updates, and handle returns and warranty claims. The legal basis is performing our contract with you. Payment details go directly to our payment providers (Shopify, and Mollie for iDEAL); we never see your full card details. Dutch tax law requires us to keep order and invoice records for seven years, so we can't delete those earlier, even if you ask.

Withdrawals, returns and warranty claims. When you withdraw from an order, return it or make a warranty claim, we receive your name, email address, order number and what you tell us about the problem. We use these to handle your request and to show that we did. The legal basis is performing our contract with you and meeting our legal obligations. We keep them with your order record.

News and offers. If you tick “Email me with news and offers” at checkout, we use your email address to send you news about Swivvy and occasional offers. The legal basis is your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can email us; we then stop straight away and keep your address only on a list of people not to email.

Your cart. While you shop, your browser keeps a reference to your cart (in local storage, not a cookie) so it is still there when you come back. It contains no personal details.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this site, but only if you accept cookies: which pages are viewed, which buttons are clicked, the type of device and browser, the approximate location (city level), how you arrived here and, if you order, the order's number, items and total. We don't use it to identify you, and Google Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months. The legal basis is your consent. We don't use Google Signals or share this data for advertising.

Cookies

When you first visit, we ask whether we may use cookies. Only if you accept do we load Google Analytics, which places cookies (such as _ga) to distinguish visitors and sessions, and the Google Maps embed on our Dutch Design Week page, where Google places its own cookies. If you decline, neither loads. We keep your choice in your browser for a year and then ask again. You can change it at any time under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page; if you withdraw consent, we delete the Analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.

One small cookie of our own, swivvy_lang, remembers whether you want this site in English or Dutch. It is set when you pick a language, or on your first visit if your browser is set to Dutch. It holds nothing but that choice and lasts a year. Because it only gives you the language you asked for, it doesn't need your consent.

Checkout happens on shop.swivvyseat.com, which is run by Shopify. Shopify places its own cookies there, needed for the cart, checkout and fraud prevention, and its checkout privacy policy applies there as well.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that make this website and our shop work: Shopify (our online shop, checkout and payments), Mollie B.V. (iDEAL payments), Google Ireland Ltd. (analytics and maps, if you accept cookies), our website and email hosting provider and the carrier that delivers your order.

We also use Shopify features that support personalised advertising. Through these, Shopify may combine data from our checkout with data from other shops that use Shopify, to improve its products and to personalise ads and recommendations, for our store and elsewhere, for example in the Shop app. No other shop sees your data. Shopify also handles this data under its own privacy policy. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in selling through Shopify, and you can object to it at any time by emailing us. Our website itself does not use your data for advertising.

Where data is transferred outside the EEA, this is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or EU standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you,
• have incorrect data corrected,
• have your data deleted,
• restrict or object to how we process it,
• receive your data in a portable format.

Some of these rights have limits: for example, we can't delete records we must keep by law. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it; that doesn't affect what we did before.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@swivvyseat.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
